Extradosed
bridge is a bridge between continuous bridge and cable-stayed
bridge in which part of load is supported by cable and other
part of load is supported by girder.
There
are some characteristics with extradosed bridge:
1.Low
tower. Height of extradosed bridge is only half of height
of cable-stayed bridge.
2.Strong
girder. Girder of extradosed bridge is so strong to support
vertical load of 70%.
3.Centralized
cable. Generally, Cable spacing is concentrated arranged per
3 to 5 meters at center of side span or one third of near
mid-span.
4.Small
cable stress amplitude. Cable stress amplitude of extradosed
bridge is only one third of which of cable-stayed bridge,
and not more than 90MPa generally.
5.Low
cost. Low tower can decrease fees of construction, small cable
stress amplitude can reduce amount of cable.
As a beautiful and economical bridge, extradosed bridge
is developed quickly in bridge industry at home and abroad.
Based on many investigation and study, FASTEN has developed
its own cable system of extradosed bridge and used in many
bridges.
